Ames Public Library is Moving!
Today is 9/3/2014
Ames Public Library
Aug. 18 - Sept. 14
Ames Public Library is getting ready to move back to the expanded and renovated building at 515 Douglas Avenue!
Book Brigade: Sunday, August 17 at 4pm
Celebrate the move by helping us pass 14 specially selected books along a human chain from the temporary location to the renewed library in a ceremonial book brigade. Who knows—maybe we'll set a Guinness World Record! Afterwards, the celebration will continue at Bandshell Park with entertainment and fun for all ages.
Library Closes: August 18 - September 13
Ames Public Library will close at the temporary location starting August 18 to move into the Renewed Library, install systems, and train staff on the many new features.
Ames Public Library Friends Foundation Gala
Friday, September 5 from 7-10pm, 515 Douglas Avenue
$75 per person
Grand REopening: Sunday, September 14
Interlibrary loan service and purchase request will be suspended from July 1 until the Grand REopening.
Please bear with us as we prepare to move all of the library’s collections, furniture, staff, and other resources to the temporary location!
