Sons of George G. Tilden as children taken in 1880. L-R: George Huntington Tilden, Lucian Cooper Tilden, Julius (J.) Galen Tilden. L.C. followed his father as manager of Tilden Department Store. Galen was in that business until 1904 when his interests in production of pennants and shirts brought about the Tilden Mfg. Co. which later became the Collegiate Mfg. Co., located in the Masonic Building. George H. Tilden studied law at the University of Wisconsin and for a while worked at the Union National Bank in Ames. In 1905 he opened a law practice and then an investment company in Seattle, WA., where he lived the rest of his life.
