Computers and Shelves at Ames Public Library

Ames Public Library’s IDEA Center connects library users to technology to digitize personal photos, slides, videos and sound recordings. Adobe Creative Cloud and Final Cut Pro are available on all stations for editing and creative projects.

The Library offers free use of internet-connected computers, laptops, and tablets along with free wi-fi throughout the building.

Need internet access? Check out a wi-fi hotspot and get online for free!

NOTE: We have a new remote printing system. Please update any bookmarks you may have.

You may print files from Ames Public Library's computer commons or using our remote printing service. You may also make copies at the Library's document stations. The following options are available:

  • Letter size (8.5" by 11") or legal size (8.5" by 14") paper
  • Black and white or color printing
  • 1-sided printing only
     

The cost per page is:

  • 10¢ for black and white
  • 50¢ for color

You can print from any mobile device, laptop, or home computer to the Ames Public Library printers.  Prints cost 10 cents per page for black and white and 50 cents per page for color.

You may scan at the Library's document stations and save the file to a USB drive, e-mail, or your Google Drive.

You may send faxes from the Library's document stations.

The cost is $0.50 per page.
