Looking west down Onondaga (Main) street from Duff Avenue corner, around 1902. The top of the Odd Fellows Building (constructed in 1902) can be seen on the north side of Onondaga (in the center of the photo). The Ames Hotel is seen on the corner of Duff and Onondaga (at the extreme right of the photo). The buggy turning the corner onto Onondaga and the buggy in front of the hotel were town-to-campus transportation. The building on the left (south side of Onondaga) was known as the Skyscraper Building by town youths because its five identical storefronts gave the illusion of a tall building on its side.
