Taken from color postcard. Between Kellogg and Douglas(s), looking at south side of Onondaga (Main) Street. Hart's Studio (G. T. Hart was longtime photographer in Ames) is shown at far right. Today (1992), the building is occupied by the Apothecary Shop. Most of the buildings shown here are still in use in 1992 but with modernized fronts. Next to Hart's is the Ames Savings Bank, built in 1903 by Andrew James Graves (building in 1992 occupied by Subway restaurant). This photo was taken before street paved (1910) or streetcar tracks laid (1907). (See also: 46.230.1-2)
