The "Daisy Dance" was performed by senior women at Iowa State College as part of the May Day celebration held in 1910. Six women in the center wore yellow cheesecloth robes representing the center of the daisy; the others wore white to represent the petals. Note the campanile in the background. The ceremony, for a time, became part of VEISHEA, which was first celebrated in 1921.
