This photograph of the Catlin family is from the album of Margaret Mitchell Brown, the step-grandmother of Farwell T. Brown. Rev. J. Frederick Catlin was the thirteenth minister to serve the Frist Baptist Church of Ames, Iowa, the church of Kendrick Wade Brown and both his wives (Lydia Gates and Margaret Mitchell). Rev. Catlin was the minister of First Baptist from October 15, 1911, to December 15, 1913. He is pictured here with his daughter Leora May, his son Glen, and his wife, who is identified only as Mrs. Catlin. (See also, 149.819.4)
