An August 5, 1915, issue of "Leslie's Illustrated Weekly Newspaper," established in 1855, was among the items included in the 1915 time capsule which was enclosed in the cornerstone of the Municipal Building. The cover of the magazine shows a submarine periscope emerging from the ocean. Submarines would be of great interest to readers in the midst of World War I. In 1996, the capsule was opened before the building was renovated for use as the headquarters of Youth and Shelter Services. The building was renamed the Jacobson Building in 1997 when it was dedicated.
