Twins Gale and Glen Clem with their father Richard R. Clem, a mechanic. The Clem family lived at 615 11th Street in Ames. In 1918, at the age of six, the twins were the object of an extensive city-wide search when they seemed to have "disappeared into thin air." Gale Clem was still a resident of Ames in 1998.
