This is the residence of the Cyrus Simmons family. Evangelist Billy Sunday, his mother Mary Jane ("Jennie"), and his two older brothers Albert and Howard E. ("Ed") once lived in a tiny log cabin located on the grounds of the Simmons farm, one-half mile west of Squire Martin Cory's place. Squire Cory was the father of Jennie Sunday and the boys' grandfather. This house was still occupied in 1985 (by Ruth Elding), when Farwell Brown was researching a story about Billy Sunday, but was later razed and is now [2006] commercially developed. For more information, see Chapter 38, "No Sunday Sermons Here," pp. 129-133, in "Ames the Early Years in Word and Picture," by Farwell T. Brown, 1993.
