Three boys rest in front of a concession building (ice cream parlor), a favorite spot at Dayton Park. Rowland McNabb, an Ames High School graduate in 1933, is the boy on the right. His family was one of a number who in the 1920s had summer cabins in the park overlooking the river valley northeast of Ames where later Dayton Road and E29 would intersect.
