A horse-drawn farm wagon float in the first VEISHEA parade in 1922 on the campus of Iowa State College. This float was sponsored by the farm crops and soils department, now [2004] known as the agronomy department. This first parade circled the campus; in later years VEISHEA parades also went downtown, but then, later still, reverted to the campus-only route.
