A dump truck-based float sponsored by the civil engineering department at Iowa State College in the first VEISHEA parade. The float is shown driving north past Morrill Hall (in left of the photograph, barely showing). The Marston water tower can be seen in the background on the right. This truck was probably a retired U.S. Army truck, retired from duty, and assigned to the Iowa Highway Commission. Note the metal wheels on the truck (no tires).
