"Columbia," Clarence Chamberlin's plane that he flew intercontinentally, New York, U.S.A., to Berlin, Germany, in 1927. Chamberlin, a former student of Iowa State College, was honored in Ames a few weeks following his flight. He was the second individual (after Charles A. Lindberg) to fly across the Atlantic.
