The Grand Avenue underpass when under construction, November 11, 1937, taken from the south end of the project. A temporary railroad trestle is shown on the branch line of the Chicago & North Western Railroad tracks. The photograph looks north from Lincoln Way along Grand Avenue in the center. In the far left of the photograph is a train car passing the depot for the Interurban Railroad. The water tank in center right of the photograph stood on the northwest corner of the Chicago & North Western depot.
