Main Street in 1939 looking east. Sheldon-Munn Hotel is on left at northwest corner of Main and Kellogg; the Rainbow Coffee Shop is on northeast corner. On the southeast corner (in center right of photo) is the Ames Trust and Savings Bank. Sign for Carr Hardware is seen on extreme right of photo. Coe Florist was located in the Sheldon-Munn. Shoe store on south side of street occupied east half of what would later be a larger Carr Hardware. Streetcar tracks had been bricked over sometime after 1929.
