Gaynold Carroll (later, Jensen) was one of three young women from Iowa State College who carried the petitions for a women's gymnasium on the campus to the Iowa legislature. The petitions were signed by over a thousand Iowa State co-eds and asked the legislators to approve the appropriations for the new building. Gaynold Carroll was a 1940 graduate of ISC with a major in journalism. She married Bill Jensen, another journalism graduate. Gaynold was originally from Des Moines and found employment as a home demonstration agent (which is the topic of this photo). The Jensens lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
