Rev. W. Murray Allan, pastor of First Congregational Church on Sixth Street in downtown Ames. Allan came to Ames from North Dakota. The church became United Church of Christ, Congregational while Rev. Allan was serving the church. The name change represented a merger of Congregational Christian churches and Evangelical and Reformed churches. (See also: 208.1182.1-2)
