This formal photograph of John Clement (Clem) O'Neil (1885-1971) was taken when he was in his seventies. He was one of the two brothers (the other being Henry O'Neil) who founded the O'Neil Dairy at 115 Kellogg Avenue in downtown Ames. Clem O'Neil was quite active in the community. He served on the city council for two years and was a member of the Elks, the Rotary Club, and the Knights of Columbus. O'Neil Park in southwest Ames is named after the two brothers, who donated the land to Ames to create the park, which was dedicated on March 28, 1941. (See also: 147.811.1-3 and 147.812.1-4)
