Brick sidewalk on Fifth Street west of Grand Avenue at the time houses were being removed for the construction of the north part of the Pyle Office Building, around 1984. Typical of early sidewalks in Ames and one of the few left in Ames in the 1980s. This sidewalk was on the north side of Fifth Street and ran from Grand Avenue west to Northwestern Avenue.
