The Bloomington School, northeast of Ames, was once located in Bloomington, a town that no longer exists. Photo was taken in 1986 and shows the chimney which had tumbled off the dilapidated remains of the one-room schoolhouse. Some of the siding and interior portions of this building were used by the Ames Heritage Association when it restored another one-room schoolhouse, the Hoggatt School, which is now located on the grounds of Meeker Elementary School in Ames.
