Drop in to a free Repair Café at the Library! Volunteers will help repair broken items to give them a longer life cycle. There is no charge for repairs at the Repair Café.
If they're unable to repair your item, or parts are required, they'll help you find a local repair shop that can help. (If you have replacement parts, you can bring them with your broken item.) Repair volunteers can also teach basic maintenance.
What can you bring for repairs?
- Audio/Visual: Radios, amps, receivers, TVs
- Lighting: Holiday lights, lamps, holiday decorations
- Clothing: Sewing, mending, alterations
- Computers & laptops
- Home & Kitchen Appliances: Small appliances, microwaves
- Jewelry & Accessories: Jewelry, watches, bags
- Knives to be sharpened
- Musical instruments
The Repair Café aims to reduce waste, share tools and resources, and help build self-reliance skills in our community. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please e-mail AmesRepairCafe@gmail.com.
