Drop in to a free Repair Café at the Library! Volunteers will help repair broken items to give them a longer life cycle. There is no charge for repairs at the Repair Café.
If they're unable to repair your item, or parts are required, they'll help you find a local repair shop that can help.
(If you have replacement parts, you can bring them with your broken item.) Repair volunteers can also teach
basic maintenance.
What can you bring for repairs?
- Sewing
- Computers & Electronics
- Jewelry
- Home & Kitchen
NEW Screen Printing Station: Bring a shirt or tote bag and we will screen print the Ames Repair Café, Ames Seed Library, or Smart Watersheds logo on it for you!
The Repair Café aims to reduce waste, share tools and resources, and help build self-reliance skills in
our community.
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please e-mail AmesRepairCafe@gmail.com.
Presented in partnership with Ames Public Library, City of Ames Resource Recovery, City of Ames Public Works, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, and Iowa State University Library.
