Join local experts to learn how to turn your yard into a more sustainable, biodiverse environment.
Hear quick, 10-minute talks on different aspects of increasing your home's biodiversity, including learning about rebates available from the City of Ames.

Then, engage with speakers and other community members to learn more about how to move toward a pollinator-friendly environment at home.

Speakers will include:

  • Liz Calhoun, storm water resource analyst with City of Ames Public Works and part of the team overseeing Smart Watersheds rebates;
  • Katelyn Rinicker, Pollinator Conservation Specialist at Prairie Rivers of Iowa, who is working on the Ames Pollinator Plan; and
  • Dr Matt O'Neal, Plant Pathology & Entomology Professor at Iowa State University (ISU) and part of the ISU Pollinator working group.
