Ames Public Library is 120 years old!

Join Shana Stuart of the Carnegie Libraries in Iowa Project to explore how the Ames Public Library secured a Carnegie grant to open our community's library in 1904. Stuart will share the library's significance within the broader context of Carnegie library funding in Iowa, delve into the impact of this grant on the library's development, and look at its place among other Carnegie libraries in the state.

Presented in partnership with Ames Public Library, Ames History Museum, and the Carnegie Libraries in Iowa Project. Supported by the Ames Public Library Friends Foundation.

Ames Public Library connects you to the world of ideas through diverse and inclusive resources and programs. We welcome proposals via our website for programs at www.amespubliclibrary.org/programproposal and exhibits at https://www.amespubliclibrary.org/exhibit-proposal.
