The November election will present a ballot proposition to amend the Iowa Constitution to require "strict scrutiny" in any court challenge to gun regulations.

The League of Women Voters of Ames & Story Country and Ames Public Library invite the public to learn about this amendment that will be on our ballot in November. John Klaus, retired Ames City Attorney, will compare the proposition with the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, provide historic and legal context, and examine the impact on public safety.

Provided in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Ames & Story County.
