Starting at 11:10am

Artist J Yang will talk about the process of making a book, finding inspiration for projects, and incorporating inclusive images. He will also talk about the difference between illustrating fiction and nonfiction, and the gradual push for diversity in the children's book industry with Taylor Carlson who writes and illustrates middle-grade graphic novels and is a professor of animation & graphic design at Buena Vista University.

J Yang's books can be purchased online from Dog-Eared Books (dogearedbooksames.com/j-yang) ahead of time and picked up at the Artist Talk. A small selection of books will also be available for purchase at the event.
