Join us for ISU Theatre’s virtual performance of Facing Our Truth: Ten Minute Plays on Trayvon, Race and Privilege. These six plays were commissioned by The New Black Fest, A Theater Movement, in light of the George Zimmerman verdict.
Between each play, cast members will share original monologues reflecting on their experience being part of the cast. Following the Thursday performance there will be a Q&A with the cast and director Tiffany Johnson. Johnson is ISU Theatre’s 2020-21 Artist in Residence and the Artistic Director of Des Moines's Pyramid Theatre Company—the only Black Theatre organization in Iowa.
Tickets for this online performance are “pay what you will.” Visit theatre.iastate.edu for more information.
Presented in partnership with Ames Public Library, ISU Theatre and The Ames Branch of the NAACP.
Ames Public Library connects you to the world of ideas through diverse and inclusive resources and programs. We welcome program proposals via our website at bit.ly/APLprogram.
