Topic -- Leading the Charge for the 19th Amendment

Presenter -- Diana B. Carlin, professor emerita of communication at Saint Louis University

The 80-year campaign for suffrage may have started in Seneca Falls, New York, but many of the early strides and some of the major players had mid-western roots. Diana B. Carlin, professor emerita of communication at Saint Louis University, will discuss the milestones achieved by women from the heartland that were ahead of the nation’s passage of full voting rights.

Provided in partnership with Ames Public Library, Ames History Museum, and the Ames/Story County 19th Amendment Centennial Committee. Supported by the Ames Public Library Friends Foundation.
