JOB SUMMARY
Assist and develop a variety projects and programs assigned by the Library Director or Managers Team
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree. Currently pursuing a Masters in Library Science (MLS or MLIS) or related field
- Able to commit 10-20 hours per week
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize/balance multiple projects at once
- Must be reliable and a self-starter
- Ability to work with, and be sensitive to, the needs of diverse groups of people
- Must be tolerant of ambiguity and adaptable to change
- Ability to think creatively to design and implement innovative programs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement
- Must be prompt and thorough in work
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands
May spend long hours standing and walking
May have to do some lifting (up to 50 #), pushing, and pulling of books & boxes
Environmental Conditions
May be interrupted by the busy environment and additional tasks
May spend some time outside for activities
Mental Demands
May have to manage multiple projects at one time
May have to manage multiple requests and situations at one time
May be exposed to ambiguous situations that may result in stress
WORK ACTIVITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Create and implement surveys
- Analyze and interpret data collected
- Present findings
- Perform clerical duties as needed
- Staff public service desk
- Develop and implement projects as assigned
